Maybe It's Just Me...

OK, maybe it is just me, but I was just reading that the US Government, owns or will soon own as many as 3 million homes either in or headed for foreclosure. A thought immediately popped into my screwy noggin. "Why doesn't Uncle Sam just tear down these 3 million houses and then default on the paper written my Fannie and Freddie, etc...." I know it's crazy! The problem is that it actually makes more sense than spending $1.5 trillion you don't have to keep overpaid state government workers on the payroll or $700 billion on fat cat banker bonuses.
